Welcome to Marys River Quilt Guild

Our purpose is to encourage and promote the art of quilting and to present activities and programs of interest to our members.  All are welcome to join us as members or as attendees at our meetings.

Monthly meetings take place at the Benton County Historical Museum,
1101 Main Street, Philomath

Our speaker this month is Marilyn Hill from Albany who will tell us about the book club, Quilter's Eye. This group combines the enjoyment of reading and challenge of interpretation through quilt design.  Come to hear Marilyn and see samples of literature-inspired quilts.

Challenge Quilts

Selects annual challenge and fabrics, signs up members to participate; arranges for judges, and organizes display of entries and at October meeting

Hospitality
Chair:  Barbara Gordon and Izzie Elliot
Sets up meeting room: greets guests and encourages members to wear their badges; organizes a drawing for all members and guests

Library 
Chair:  Joyce Loper

Maintains the guild's library in the Museum annex; makes new purchases of books and equipment; prepares material for check out; keeps library records. 

Newsletter 
Donna Westwood, Editor

Publishes the guild's newsletter every two months and distributes it to the guild members

Program/Workshop 
Chair:
  Nancy Albright; Co-Chairs Glenda Gassner and Yvonne Thomas
Plans and conducts the program portion of each monthly meeting; organizes workshops, demos and other training.

Publicity/History 
Chair: Alice Hall
MariAnne Johnson, Naomi Weidner 
Maintains scrapbooks/photo albums of guild activities; advertises meetings and upcoming events.

Raffle Quilts
Marketing
Chair: Kelly Clark

Markets the raffle quilt, arranging for ticket sale venues, signs up members to sell tickets.

2022 Raffle Quilt
Chair: Marcia Gilson
Organize the creation of the 2020 Raffle Quilt. This quilt helps to make a donation to the Benton County Historical Museum for use of the museum auditorium and annex.

Round Robin 
Chair: Cindy Graff
  
Organizes the Round Robin program. Invites members to join, sets up groups, and arranges for meetings.

Secret Sisters 
Chair:  Jan Andrews
Members sign up in January to receive a Secret Sister. Secret Sisters exchange gifts during the year. Gifts should be $10.00 or less. At the December meeting, Secret Sisters are revealed. Additional events occur during the year which are open to all guild members.

Each board member is elected by the members of the Mary's River Quilt Guild and serves a two-year term. Elections are held during the November meeting each year.
