Marys River Quilt Guild

Serving the quilters and quilt lovers of Benton County, OR

Our April 25, 2024 meeting is our Challenge Quilt Meeting. Members have had one year to prepare their challenge quilts and this is the meeting where quilts will be presented, stories will be told, and members will have a chance to vote on their favorites.

Meetings take place at the Benton County Historical Museum, 1101 Main Street, Philomath, OR.  Meetings start at 7pm and are preceded by a social gathering at 6:30pm.

We meet the 4th Thursday of each month (except Nov.--3rd Thursday and Dec.--no meeting)

Join us for fun and educational evenings of programs and fellowship around our passion for quilting! Our guild offers a variety of ways to get involved, learn new techniques and connect with fellow quilters!

Our Guild

At the Marys River Quilt Guild, we offer a wide range of speakers and programs for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced quilter, you will find a supportive and creative environment to learn and grow.

In 1989, when quilting was on the rise in Benton County, a group of women approached the Benton County Historical Museum and asked if they could meet in the auditorium on a monthly basis to promote the quilting interests in the county.

The Marys River Quilt Guild was formed and monthly meetings have continued in the main auditorium at the museum. The guild has continued to support the quilting community and has actively supported projects such as bed quilts for the Mario Pastega House; quilts for victims of natural disasters and child abuse; quilts for the TOUCH Project in Ukraine and many others.  It has also organized Quilts in the Garden and Quilt County, at one time.  More importantly, the guild has given quilters a place to share ideas and friendships with those who enjoy the craft of quilting.

Service to our Community and Those in Need

At Marys River Quilt Guild, our Service Committee uses donated fabrics in the creation of a variety of quilts to have ready for charitable causes.  In the most recent four years the committee has coordinated the making and giving away of between one hundred and two hundred quilts each year.

We donate to many community service organizations and assisted living facilities as well as victims of house fires and recently to victims of wildfires.  We also provide quilts  to several organizations for raffles and auctions.
